Screwy Hamas bans lingerie displays

Hamas bans lingerie displays

By foreign affairs editor Peter Cave in Gaza

Gaza's Hamas rulers have ordered shops in the Palestinian enclave to cover up their mannequins in their latest campaign to enforce Islamic public morality.

A police statement said it was absolutely forbidden to display revealing clothes in front of women's clothing shops.

It also banned dressing rooms and tinted windows.

The new ruling came two weeks after an edict banning women from smoking water pipes in public places was withdrawn after public complaints.

Earlier this year Hamas police broke up a hip-hop concert in the territory.

They also tried, unsuccessfully, to force female lawyers in court and female school students to wear traditional Muslim clothing - a step that drew a public backlash.

This is what they would force upon the entire world.

Preach it, brother!

I hate no one. I hate the whole religion of Islam. It is an evil demon cult of death. it should not be allowed in the civilized world anymore than we'd allow the Nazi Party to hold office or form military groups.

I think we need to see just what they are banning. Preferably on models.

I'd never had guessed that is what they wear.
They won't stop the sell of underwear, anyway. It'll just go undercover.

It was one of the logical disconnects I had while in Saudi. All of the suks (markets) sold clothes. They had displays out for all to see. The lingerie labels were as shown above our even more risque. The same was true of Egypt, Bahrain and the Emirates. While the mutawa (religious police) were stalking through the crowds hitting women with their limber canes for showing a little too much ankle or arm, they'd walk right past the lingerie displays. They also blacked out ads in import magazines. Thosa hypocritical bastards had no problems with gang raping a owman they'd arrest for indecent exposure (too much leg, etc...) or even buggering young boys (sometimes rape, sometimes not) but they were the proctors of other people's morality. I HATE MUZZIES!
